Job Summary
This role is the backbone of our guest flow, keeping service smooth and setting the tone for every meal in an intimate fine dining setting. You will develop confident service skills, build practical management experience, and support both the kitchen and front-of-house teams. We are looking for an attentive professional to deliver refined food experiences and ensure effortless evening operations.

Responsibilities
Guest Experience
- Welcome and seat guests with warm, composed service and timed attention to detail.
- Present menus, explain special dishes, and suggest pairings in a clear, friendly way.
- Manage guest requests and special occasions with discretion and follow-through.
Service Operations
- Run covers accurately, coordinate course timing with the kitchen, and ensure plates leave the pass correctly.
- Operate the POS, process payments, and handle cash reconciliations at shift end.
- Prepare the dining room for service, maintain table settings, and monitor ambience throughout service.
- Assist with reservations, waitlists, and small private dining setups when needed.
Teamwork & Training
- Work closely with servers, kitchen, and management to keep service efficient during peak times.
- Train new front of house staff on daily routines, table service standards, and health and safety rules.
- Participate in pre-shift briefings and contribute ideas to improve flow and guest satisfaction.
- Support opening and closing tasks, stock checks, and light inventory handling.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience working in fine dining or upscale hospitality environments.
- Secondary education or equivalent, with any hospitality certificate considered an advantage.
- Flexible availability for evening and weekend shifts, and ability to commit to scheduled roster patterns.
- Experience handling cash, end-of-day reconciliation, and basic event setups.
Hard Skills & Knowledge
- Strong table service technique, including plated service and clearing procedures.
- Familiarity with common POS systems and reservation platforms used in restaurants.
- Practical knowledge of food safety basics and proper handling of cutlery and glassware.
- Basic wine and beverage knowledge suitable for recommending pairings and assisting sommeliers.
Soft Skills & Qualities
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills, with a calm presence under pressure.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple covers and timing across the dining room.
