Interior Design Intern
Job Summary
Cobnb Sdn Bhd is seeking an Interior Design Intern to assist with design proposals, space planning, and layout ideas. The successful candidate will support basic 3D sketches, material selection, and drawing documentation. This role also involves providing site and project support, procurement assistance, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing mood boards, concept proposals, space planning, and layout ideas.
- Help prepare basic drawings such as floor plans and furniture layouts.
- Attend site visits and assist in site measurements and progress documentation.
- Support in sourcing furniture, lighting, and décor items.
- Prepare presentation slides and update project trackers.
Required Skills
- Diploma or Degree student in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or related field
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design software
- Strong interest in renovation and property design
- Willing to learn, proactive, and able to follow instructions
Job Details
1. Design Assistance Assist in preparing mood boards, concept proposals, space planning, and layout ideas. Support basic 3D sketches and renderings. Assist in selecting materials, furniture, color schemes, and decorative items.
2. Drawing & Documentation Support Help prepare basic drawings such as floor plans, furniture layouts, and simple joinery details. Organize and update design files, project folders, and material sample records.
3. Site & Project Support Attend site visits with Project Designer / Project Manager. Assist in site measurements, progress photo documentation, and quality inspection checklists. Report site issues and observations to supervisor.
4. Procurement & Styling Support Assist in sourcing furniture, lighting, and décor items. Support final styling and setup of units before handover. Prepare simple inventory lists for completed units.
5. Administrative Support Prepare presentation slides for design proposals. Update project trackers (Excel / Google Sheets / Asana). Support the renovation team in daily coordination tasks.
Requirements
Diploma / Degree student in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or related field.
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design software.
Strong interest in renovation and property design.
Willing to learn, proactive, and able to follow instructions.
