Job Summary
TRIPLE TREE ENRICHMENT CENTRE is seeking an Internship Coding Teacher to design and deliver engaging after-school coding programmes for young learners aged 6 to 16. The role involves creating age-appropriate curricula, teaching subjects like Scratch and Python, and supporting student development in a collaborative classroom environment. Candidates will gain hands-on teaching and curriculum design experience while helping students build confidence and technical skills.
Responsibilities

Required Skills
- Diploma or degree in Education, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related
- 2+ years of experience teaching coding to children or teens

Responsibilities
Curriculum & Content
- Create clear, age-appropriate lesson plans for ages 6 to 16 that mix block-based and introductory text coding.
- Design hands-on projects and simple assessments that measure skill progress and spark curiosity.
- Maintain and update teaching materials to include tools like Scratch, Python, micro:bit, and basic HTML/CSS.
- Prepare short teacher notes and resources to support substitute instructors and scale classes.
Classroom Delivery & Student Support
- Deliver small group and one-on-one sessions using patient, clear instructions and live demonstrations.
- Adjust activities for mixed-ability learners and provide differentiated tasks when needed.
- Track student progress, give constructive feedback, and prepare term reports for parents.
- Encourage project showcasing and guide students through demo days and assessments.
Operations & Community
- Coordinate class schedules, attendance, and basic admin with the centre team.
- Communicate regularly with parents about progress, homework, and next steps.
- Support centre events, open days, and onboarding for new students and instructors.
- Follow centre policies for safety, behaviour, and device use during lessons.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or degree in Education, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent teaching experience.
- At least 2 years of experience teaching or tutoring coding to children or teens in enrichment programmes or schools.
- Familiarity with after-school schedules and willingness to teach weekday evenings and occasional weekends.
- Prior experience in an enrichment centre, tuition centre, or school is preferred but not mandatory.
Hard Skills & Knowledge
- Practical proficiency with Scratch and block-based teaching methods for young learners.
- Working knowledge of Python and basic JavaScript for introducing text-based coding concepts.
- Experience with simple hardware platforms such as micro:bit or beginner robotics preferred.
- Comfort using presentation tools, Google Workspace, spreadsheets for tracking, and basic LMS or class management tools.
