Job Summary

G.S. Gill Sdn Bhd is hiring a Warehouse Assistant to maintain stock accuracy and ensure timely fulfilment of retail, web-shop, and B2B orders. The role involves managing receiving, put-away, inventory control, picking, packing, dispatch, and returns. Candidates will ensure efficient warehouse operations while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Job Details

Responsibilities: Receiving: Unload incoming goods safely; check cartons and pallets for damage; verify quantities and item codes against PO/DO; prepare Goods Received Note (GRN); label/scan items and update the Warehouse System (WS) in real time. Put-away and storage: Place stock in correct bin/rack according to FIFO/FEFO and store layout; maintain required storage conditions; ensure correct labels/barcodes/location codes. Inventory control: Carry out daily cycle counts; investigate variances; monitor shelf life and expiry dates; record stock adjustments with required approval and documentation. Picking, packing and replenishment: Pick orders accurately from pick lists; pack and stage orders with correct documents (DO, invoice); replenish retail store shelves and back-room stock. Dispatch and delivery coordination: Hand over orders to drivers/couriers and obtain signed confirmation; load vehicles safely and confirm route and parcel counts. Returns, damages and RTV: Receive returns; inspect and update status (saleable, repairable, scrap); record and quarantine damaged stock; prepare Damaged Goods Report and arrange Return to Vendor (RTV) with supervisor. Documentation and systems: Prepare and file GRNs, DOs, variance logs, RTV forms and stock adjustment memos; enter data into WS and POS accurately and on time. Housekeeping and safety: Keep aisles, racks and staging areas clean and tidy; report hazards, near misses and incidents immediately. Teamwork and continuous improvement: Support stock takes and promotional campaigns; suggest ideas to improve accuracy, throughput and use of warehouse space. Must have: - SPM or equivalent. - Entry level to 2 years' experience in a warehouse, store room, retail back-of-house or logistics role. - Careful and accurate with counts, codes and paperwork; able to follow pick lists and FIFO/FEFO rules. - Physically able to lift and move cartons (up to about 20 kg), work on feet through the shift and use ladders or trolleys safely. - Basic computer skills: scanning, data entry into a warehouse or POS system, simple spreadsheets. - Able to read and speak Bahasa Malaysia and basic English. - Reliable and punctual; willing to work occasional Saturdays, stock-take days and peak-season overtime with notice. - Malaysian citizen or permanent resident. Nice to have: - Experience with barcode scanners or a warehouse management system. - A valid driving licence (B2 or D) for occasional local deliveries. - Experience in sporting goods, footwear, apparel or retail distribution. - Interest in sport and familiarity with the GS Gill range. Personal qualities: - Takes pride in a tidy, accurate warehouse and notices when something is in the wrong place. - Safety-minded and speaks up about hazards. - Team player who helps store and sales colleagues get orders out.
