Job Summary
Ter Badminton Academy is seeking a Part Time Badminton Coach to plan and deliver engaging training sessions that build strong fundamentals and confident players. The role involves leading practical coaching, managing session operations, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants. The ideal candidate brings coaching or playing experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for athlete development.

- Manage session schedules, equipment, and court bookings
- Ensure athlete safety and lead warm-up/injury prevention exercises

Responsibilities
Coaching & Training
- Plan and deliver group and individual sessions that focus on footwork, strokes, tactics, and match play.
- Adjust drills and intensity to suit age, skill level, and physical readiness of each player.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback after sessions and set short term practice goals.
Program Coordination
- Manage session schedules, equipment checks, and court bookings to ensure smooth operations.
- Track attendance and progress with simple records to help coaches and parents follow development.
- Communicate clearly with parents and players about training plans, fees, and event dates.
Athlete Development & Safety
- Identify talent potential and recommend appropriate training paths for competitive or recreational players.
- Lead warm ups, cool downs, and basic injury prevention exercises during every session.
- Follow first aid procedures and escalate any medical concerns to our team promptly.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of badminton coaching or playing experience at club, school, or academy level.
- Formal coaching certification is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is required.
- Experience working with youth players and running small group sessions is essential.
Hard Skills & Knowledge
- Proven ability to design progressive training sessions that improve technique and tactical understanding.
- Basic knowledge of physical conditioning, injury prevention, and court safety procedures.
- Competence using simple tools to track progress, such as spreadsheets or session logs.
Soft Skills & Qualities
- Strong communication and patience when teaching players of different ages and abilities.
- Reliable time management and the ability to run punctual, well-structured sessions.
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and a team mindset when coordinating with other coaches and parents.
