Job Summary
As a Semi-Senior Accountant at ThreeStep Advisory, you will manage a portfolio of SME clients by handling full sets of accounts and ensuring financial accuracy. You will prepare monthly and annual management accounts, liaise with auditors and tax agents, and help business owners interpret their financial data. This role provides an opportunity to grow into advisory work while utilizing cloud accounting tools.

Required Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting or professional qualification
- At least 2 years of accounting experience
- Experience with cloud accounting software (Bukku or Xero)
- Knowledge of MPERS/MFRS and Malaysian tax basics

About the Role

Requirements
What You’ll Do
- Handle full set of accounts for a portfolio of SME clients across different industries
- Prepare monthly and annual management accounts, bank reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Review entries and work prepared by junior team members
- Liaise with external auditors and tax agents for audit, tax, and statutory submissions
- Communicate with clients on queries, missing documents, and deadlines
- Support SST, payroll, and other compliance matters where required
- Help improve our workflows as we build smarter systems and use AI tools
What We’re Looking For
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, or a professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, MIA, or in progress)
- At least 2 years of experience in an accounting firm or accounting role
- Able to handle full set of accounts independently
- Hands-on experience with cloud accounting software; Bukku or Xero is a strong plus
- Good working knowledge of MPERS/MFRS and Malaysian tax basics
- Organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
- Clear communicator in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an advantage for liaising with Mandarin-speaking clients
