Hardware Technician
Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Hardware Technician to support the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and management of hardware and technical equipment for events, internal operations, and client sites. The ideal candidate has practical experience with AV and IT-related equipment and is willing to travel for on-site technical work.

Event & Project Hardware Setup
- Assist in the setup, testing, operation, and breakdown of hardware and technical equipment for events and projects.
- Prepare and check AV equipment, displays, computers, sensors, interactive devices, cables, and other event-related hardware before deployment.
- Conduct pre-event testing and equipment checks to ensure all hardware is functioning properly and meets project requirements.
- Provide on-site technical support during events and projects, including troubleshooting and resolving basic hardware issues.
- Assist with equipment installation, cabling, configuration, and testing at event venues and project sites.
- Work closely with the project, creative, and technical teams to ensure hardware is properly integrated into the overall project setup.
Internal Hardware Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance, testing, and basic troubleshooting of company hardware, including AV systems, computers, monitors, networking equipment, interactive devices, and other technical equipment.
- Assist with diagnosing hardware faults and coordinating repairs or replacements when required.
- Maintain proper records of company hardware, equipment condition, and maintenance activities.
- Assist in managing the hardware inventory, including equipment check-in/check-out, stock records, and replenishment of commonly used items.
- Ensure hardware and technical equipment are properly stored, labelled, handled, and maintained.
Client Site Maintenance & Support
- Assist with scheduled maintenance visits to client sites to inspect and ensure hardware and equipment are functioning properly.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and resolve technical issues on-site where possible.
- Communicate professionally with clients and provide updates on technical issues and maintenance progress.
- Escalate complex technical issues to the relevant senior or technical team when required.
- Record maintenance activities, issues identified, solutions implemented, and follow-up actions.
General Technical Duties
- Assist in the preparation and testing of hardware for upcoming projects and events.
- Support the technical team in equipment installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability, and setup processes.
- Keep up to date with relevant AV, IT, interactive technology, and event hardware.
- Follow proper safety procedures when handling, installing, transporting, and operating technical equipment.
- Ensure equipment is handled carefully and returned in good working condition after use.
- Perform other technical and ad-hoc duties assigned by the supervisor or management.
Job Requirements
- 1–3 years of working experience in hardware setup, maintenance, technical support, AV, IT, event technology, or a related field.
- Diploma or Certificate in IT, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Multimedia, AV Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline will be an advantage.
- Basic to good technical knowledge of AV equipment, IT hardware, displays, computers, cables, networking equipment, and event-related technology.
- Basic troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve common hardware and technical issues.
- Hands-on and practical approach to technical work.
- Good problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with project, creative, and technical teams.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical matters clearly to clients and non-technical team members.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and equipment at the same time.
- Willing to travel to event venues and client sites when required.
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, or public holidays when required for events or project deployments.
- Possession of a valid driving licence is an advantage.
