Job Summary
Brenda Kuoh Studio is seeking a Retail Assistant to join their small creative e-commerce team and retail store. The role involves delivering thoughtful styling, clear customer care, and neat presentation to support both online orders and in-person shopping experiences. Responsibilities include greeting customers, processing sales, managing inventory, and assisting with visual merchandising.

Job Details
Store & Customer Experience
- Greet customers, answer product questions, and provide simple wardrobe suggestions in a friendly, patient way.
- Process sales at the POS, handle cash and card transactions accurately, and issue receipts.
- Manage try-ons and maintain fitting room order, ensuring garments are returned neatly and labeled.
- Support pop-up events by helping with setup, customer flow, and post-event tidying.
Stock & Order Management
- Receive deliveries, check items against packing lists, and update stock records promptly.
- Pick and pack online orders with care, following packaging guidelines to protect garments during shipping.
- Perform regular shelf and backstock counts to flag low stock and discrepancies to the manager.
- Label, tag, and store items so inventory is easy to find and process.
Visual Merchandising & Styling
- Arrange window and in-store displays to reflect seasonal themes and current promotions.
- Assist with simple styling for photo shoots or social content, following brand direction.
- Keep the sales area tidy and visually appealing, ensuring garments are presented neatly.
- Suggest small visual improvements that help highlight new arrivals and best sellers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Secondary school certificate or equivalent is preferred but not required.
- 0 years experience is acceptable; internships or volunteer retail experience are a plus.
- Available to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings for pop-ups and peak periods.
- Able to perform light physical tasks such as lifting boxes and standing for shifts.
Hard Skills & Knowledge
- Customer Service: calm, responsive, and polite when helping shoppers and handling returns.
- Stock Management: basic inventory checks, labelling, and simple record keeping.
- Wardrobe Styling: a good eye for fit and simple outfit pairing for in-person assistance.
