Job Summary
This J-1 training program at the Elyton Hotel offers hands-on experience in upscale food and beverage operations, including restaurants, in-room dining, banquets, and lounges. Trainees will progress from foundational service standards to supervisory and management development over the course of the program. Participants will gain exposure to Marriott/Autograph Collection standards, guest service expectations, and interdepartmental coordination.

Job Details
Training Plan:
Orientation (0,5 month): The participant will complete an orientation to Elyton Hotel, including Marriott/Autograph Collection standards, hotel policies, safety procedures, guest-service expectations and the structure of the Food & Beverage operation. The participant will be introduced to The Yard, Moon Shine, banquet/event operations and in-room dining, as well as the way F&B coordinates with Culinary, Sales, Front Office and hotel leadership.
Restaurant/In-Room Dining (3,5 months): The participant will develop a strong understanding of upscale restaurant and in-room dining operations, including service standards, guest engagement, POS procedures, service flow, special requests, VIP service, upselling and service recovery. As the rotation progresses, training will include supervised exposure to pre-shift meetings, team communication, coaching, staffing considerations, quality standards and coordination with Culinary and other hotel departments.
Banquets / Events / Lounge (4 months): The participant will develop experience in banquet, event and lounge operations, including event preparation, service sequencing, guest flow, staffing considerations, inventory awareness, responsible alcohol service, quality standards and coordination with Culinary and Sales. Training will also include revenue awareness, upselling, event-service recovery and learning how F&B leaders adjust staffing and operational priorities across different outlets and business levels.
Food & Beverage Supervision & Management Development (4 months): The participant will integrate the experience gained in restaurant, in-room dining, lounge and banquet operations and progress into structured supervisory and management development. Training will include team coaching, service-quality monitoring, scheduling and labor awareness, guest recovery, inventory and supply controls, food-safety compliance, operational reporting, revenue awareness and interdepartmental communication. Under the guidance of hotel leadership, the participant will also receive supervised exposure to management decision-making and Food & Beverage leadership responsibilities.
Requirements:
You have a hospitality degree from a post-secondary academic education with a minimum 2-year full-time course, approved by the Ministry of Education
Recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry
Or: You have 5 years of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry
