Job Summary
Imagineers Film Sdn Bhd is seeking an Internship Video Editor to take raw footage and shape it into finished stories for commercials, branded content, and short-form films. The intern will work directly with directors and producers, building edits, motion assets, and sound design while receiving mentorship. This is an ideal hands-on opportunity for fresh graduates and entry-level candidates to build a versatile portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Organize footage and manage project files
- Create rough cuts and final video edits
- Apply color correction and basic grading
- Design simple motion graphics and title sequences
- Mix dialogue, ambient sound, and music
Required Skills
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects

Job Details
As a Video Editor you'll take raw footage and shape it into finished stories, building edits, motion assets and sound design that match briefs and delivery schedules. You will help create social clips, corporate videos and campaign edits that scale from idea to publish.
You will work directly with directors, producers and motion designers, and learn on the job with mentorship and regular feedback.

Responsibilities
Project Management
- Organize incoming footage, label clips and build consistent media logs to speed up editing sessions.
- Manage project files, sequences and asset backups so edits remain stable and shareable.
- Coordinate with producers to track timelines, review cycles and final delivery formats.
- Prepare masters and create deliverables in multiple aspect ratios and codec settings for web and broadcast.
Post-Production Craft
- Create rough cuts and refine to final picture while keeping story clarity and pacing top of mind.
- Apply color correction and basic grading to achieve consistent looks across scenes.
- Design simple motion graphics and title sequences that support the narrative.
- Mix dialogue, ambient sound and music to a clean deliverable and troubleshoot audio issues.
Collaboration & Delivery
- Incorporate client and director feedback promptly and document version changes for easy review.
- Work with motion designers and VFX freelancers to hand off and receive assets smoothly.
- Ensure exports meet technical specs and upload deliverables to shared drives or distribution platforms.
- Support on-set logging or offline editing when briefed by producers.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or degree in film, media, animation or a related field, or equivalent portfolio work.
- 0 years of professional experience is acceptable; we welcome fresh graduates and entry-level candidates.
- Provide a showreel or portfolio link that demonstrates narrative edits and visual sense.
- Availability for part-time overtime during tight delivery windows and occasional on-set assistance.
Hard Skills & Knowledge
- Proficient in video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
- Familiarity with color grading tools such as DaVinci Resolve or Lumetri is preferred.
- Understanding of codecs, frame rates, aspect ratios and export settings for social and broadcast.
- Basic audio editing and mixing skills, plus common file management workflows for collaborative projects.
Soft Skills & Qualities
- Strong visual storytelling instinct and an eye for pacing, cut point and rhythm.
- Good attention to detail and a habit of keeping projects organized and documented.
- Clear communicator who can accept feedback and explain creative choices to producers.
