Responsibilities
Daily Accounting Tasks
- Process invoices, receipts, and petty cash entries accurately into our accounting system.
- Perform day-to-day data entry and ensure documents are filed and tracked for audits.
- Match supplier statements with purchase records and flag discrepancies to the finance lead.
- Support payment preparation and follow up on payment confirmations when needed.
Reporting & Analysis
- Help prepare basic monthly schedules such as bank reconciliations and sales summaries.
- Compile simple cost and revenue tables that the team uses for weekly check-ins.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end documents by gathering source files and verifying numbers.
- Produce clear notes on any unusual transactions for supervisor review.
Operations & Process Support
- Work with store staff to collect daily sales reports and cash remittance records.
- Maintain orderly spreadsheets and update templates to keep processes repeatable and clear.
- Participate in small projects to improve filing, invoice flows, or inventory costing steps.
- Support ad hoc tasks such as supplier inquiries, archive retrieval, and basic audit prep.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Pursuing or recently completed a diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Approximately 0 years practical work experience is expected; this is an entry internship role.
- Available to work full-time during the internship period and assist with month-end activities.
Hard Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles, ledgers, and bookkeeping practices.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Excel including basic formulas, filters, and tables.
- Familiarity or willingness to learn accounting software such as MYOB or similar systems.
- Sound numeracy and accuracy when handling invoices, receipts, and reconciliations.
