Job Summary

This role supports the company’s legal and compliance function by providing legal advisory services, managing commercial contracts, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The position works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support corporate activities and manage legal risks. It requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and at least 3 years of post-qualification experience.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements
  • Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters
  • Liaise with external solicitors on litigation and legal proceedings
  • Support compliance initiatives and internal governance

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB)
  • Admitted to the Malaysian Bar (CLP or BPTC required)
  • Minimum 3 years of PQE
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills

Job Details

Key Responsibilities Contract Drafting & Legal Documentation - Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, service agreements, NDAs, tenancy agreements, and other legal documents. - Ensure contracts are legally sound and aligned with business objectives. - Maintain proper documentation and manage the contract repository. Legal Advisory & Regulatory Support - Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, banking, regulatory, employment, and compliance matters. - Support internal teams on legal risk assessment and interpretation of laws and regulations. - Conduct legal research and monitor regulatory changes affecting business operations. Dispute Management & Stakeholder Coordination - Liaise with external solicitors on litigation, disputes, and legal proceedings. - Coordinate with internal departments to resolve legal issues efficiently. - Support compliance initiatives and internal governance frameworks. Requirements - Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB). - Admitted to the Malaysian Bar (CLP or BPTC required). - Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE). - Strong experience in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and agreements. - Background in corporate, commercial, banking or litigation matters preferred. Conveyancing background is not preferred.
