Job Summary
The Product & Application Development Engineer will drive new product development and enhance existing product solutions. This role involves leading technical activities such as product formulation, laboratory testing, and manufacturing scale-up. You will also collaborate closely with internal teams and customers to provide technical support and ensure product excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop new product formulations and color matching
- Conduct product performance verification and testing
- Support manufacturing scale-up and handover
- Manage technical documentation (DQP, SAP, SDS, TDS)
- Provide technical support to teams and customers
Required Skills
- Degree in Polymer or Material Science
- 3+ years in plastic compounding and testing
- Expertise in polymer formulation
- Strong English communication skills
- Ability to work independently
Job Details
Position: Product and Application Development Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new product formulations, innovation solutions, and colour matching at laboratory scale.
- Conduct product performance verification and prepare technical specifications.
- Support manufacturing scale-up and ensure smooth product handover to production.
- Coordinate laboratory activities and maintain development quality.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams.
- Manage technical documentation including DQP, PLM, SAP, SDS, and TDS.
- Provide technical support, product recommendations, and training to internal teams and customers.
- Support raw material evaluation and supplier recommendations.
- Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer, Material Science, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in plastic compounding and plastic testing.
- Strong knowledge of polymer formulation is mandatory.
- Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
