Internship Interior Designer
Job Summary
Toby Interior Furnishing is looking for an intern to work on live design projects, from concept development to 3D visualization. You will be actively involved in sourcing materials, conducting site visits, and managing project documentation. This is a hands-on role designed to challenge and develop your professional design skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop concept boards, layouts, and presentations
- Produce 2D floor plans and 3D visualisations
- Source furniture, fabrics, and finishes
- Attend site visits and client meetings
- Manage project documentation and quotations
Required Skills
- AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite proficiency
- Spatial design knowledge
- Strong English and Bahasa Malaysia communication
- Proactive problem solving

WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY BE DOING
- Real projects, real clients, real pressure: You'll work on live projects — developing concept boards, layouts, and presentations that actual clients will see.
- Draw it until it's right: Produce 2D floor plans, spatial layouts, and 3D visualisations.
- Know your materials: Source and select furniture, fabrics, finishes, and furnishing products.
- Get off the screen and on-site: Join site visits and client meetings. Measure, observe, and ask questions.
- Administrative tasks: Handle quotations, procurement schedules, and project documentation.
REQUIREMENTS
- You're studying Interior Design, Architecture, or something equally spatial.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or the Adobe suite.
- Ability to handle constructive feedback.
- Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is a plus).
- Proactive mindset with a focus on proposing new ideas.
