Job Summary
The Senior Shipping and Logistics Executive will manage end-to-end supply chain operations on Penang Island. This role involves coordinating freight schedules, managing customs documentation, and optimizing warehouse inventory movements. Responsibilities
Shipping Operations
- Coordinate daily shipping and freight schedules to maintain a reliable and efficient delivery timeline.
- Manage customs documentation and clearance processes, ensuring compliance and avoiding delays.
Logistics Coordination
- Monitor inventory levels and warehouse movements to maintain optimal stock efficiency.
- Liaise with external transporters and freight forwarders to secure the best shipping rates and routes.
Process Optimization
- Identify areas for improvement in the current logistics framework to reduce operational costs and enhance service delivery.
- Track and report on key logistics metrics to present actionable insights to the management team.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Malaysian citizen.
- 2 to 4 years of proven experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Penang Island.
Hard Skills & Knowledge
- Literary proficiency in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking suppliers and partners.
- Strong understanding of import and export procedures, freight forwarding, and customs regulations.
Soft Skills & Qualities
- Highly organized and detail-oriented to handle complex shipping documentation accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to navigate unexpected logistics challenges gracefully.
- Strong team player who communicates clearly and collaborates effectively across different departments.
