Job Summary
Sigmaschool is seeking an AI Software Developer & Teaching Assistant for a hybrid role involving 50% software development and 50% student support. You will contribute to building the Sigmo AI-powered learning platform while mentoring students through practical coding projects. Responsibilities
- Develop features for the Sigmo AI-learning platform
- Write, test, and debug production-grade code
- Provide technical support and mentorship to bootcamp students
- Conduct code reviews and assess student projects
- Maintain and improve learning curriculum and documentation
Required Skills
- Proficiency in React/Next.js and TypeScript
- Strong understanding of Node.js and REST APIs
- Experience with SQL and database fundamentals
- Expertise in Git/GitHub workflows
- Ability to utilize AI coding tools for development and debugging
Job Details
### Position Overview
This is a hybrid role involving approximately 50% software development and 50% teaching/student support. You will help build the learning platform, improve internal tools, support students, review projects, and shape how coding is taught in the AI-native era.
### Core Responsibilities
1. **Build Sigmo (AI-Powered Learning Platform):** Contribute to developing internal tools including student dashboards, mission flows, coding challenge interfaces, AI-tutor features, and progress tracking systems.
2. **Software Development:** Write code, ship features, fix bugs, and improve product quality using a stack including Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Node.js, Supabase, and various AI coding tools.
3. **Student Support:** Assist students in an AI-native bootcamp with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Next.js, backend development, databases, and debugging.
4. **Project Review & Feedback:** Review student code quality, project structure, functionality, and GitHub repositories to provide technical feedback and ensure project completion.
5. **Curriculum Improvement:** Develop and enhance coding missions, project briefs, debugging guides, and AI workflow resources.
### Technical Requirements
* **Core Skills:** HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React or Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js/backend basics, REST APIs, SQL/database fundamentals, Git and GitHub.
* **Capability:** Ability to debug frontend and backend issues and deploy basic web applications.
* **AI Proficiency:** Experience using AI coding tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or Codex.
* **Bonus Experience:** Supabase, PostgreSQL, Tailwind CSS, Vercel, Authentication systems, AI APIs, automation tools (n8n), or gamification systems.
### Working Arrangement
* **Role:** Full-time.
* **Schedule:** Monday to Friday, with some evening student support sessions required.
