Electrical Engineering Intern

Responsibilities Project Support - Assist engineers during installation and commissioning of electrical systems on site, following drawings and safety procedures. - Help prepare and update site schedules, material lists, and daily progress reports for project leads. - Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to confirm delivery and resolve basic site queries. Hands-on Technical Work - Carry out basic electrical wiring tasks under supervision, including cable routing, termination, and labeling. - Perform circuit testing and record results using multimeters and insulation testers. - Support fault finding by inspecting panels, connections, and test data to help engineers identify issues. - Assist with equipment setup for site trials and demonstrate safe use of test instruments. Documentation & Communication - Draft and maintain as-built wiring diagrams, simple schematics, and site checklists in clear, standard formats. - Log test results, prepare short technical notes, and file documentation for handover packs. - Communicate progress and issues clearly to supervisors and the project team during daily briefings. - Support basic inventory checks and tagging of electrical components. Requirements Qualifications & Experience - Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 0 years of industry experience. - Available for an internship placement based in Johor and able to travel to local sites as required. - Willing to follow site safety rules and participate in induction and toolbox meetings. Hard Skills & Knowledge - Basic understanding of electrical wiring, circuit fundamentals, and protective devices. - Familiarity with circuit testing tools such as multimeters, insulation testers, and continuity testers. - Ability to read single line diagrams and simple schematics, and to produce tidy hand-drawn or digital wiring sketches. - Comfort with technical documentation, Excel for simple logs, and basic CAD or drawing tools is an advantage. Soft Skills & Qualities - Good communication skills to report findings and follow instructions clearly. - Strong coordination mindset to help organise site tasks and track materials. - Curiosity and willingness to learn practical techniques under supervision. - Reliable, punctual, and attentive to safety and quality in hands-on tasks.
