Chef / Kitchen Team

About the role We are looking for a passionate and responsible Chef / Kitchen Team Member to join our growing kitchen team at 瀾華 Vanda Exquisite Chinese Cuisine. You will be involved in the daily kitchen operations, food preparation and cooking, while helping us maintain good food quality, cleanliness and smooth service. We welcome chefs from different culinary backgrounds who are willing to learn, grow and work as part of a team. Key responsibilities - Assist with daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth food preparation and service. - Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and kitchen standards. - Work with the kitchen team to maintain consistent food quality, taste and presentation. - Assist with food preparation, mise en place and general kitchen duties. - Maintain a clean, organized and hygienic kitchen in accordance with food safety requirements. - Assist with stock checking, ingredient preparation and minimizing food wastage. - Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations and support new menu ideas where appropriate. - Support other kitchen duties and assist junior team members when required, as reasonably assigned by management. Requirements About you - Experience: Previous experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen is preferred, but candidates with less experience who are passionate about cooking are also welcome to apply. - Culinary Background: Experience in Chinese cuisine is an advantage, but we also welcome candidates from Cantonese, Huaiyang, Malay, Japanese, Western, Fusion or other culinary backgrounds. - Skills: Basic cooking and food preparation skills, with a willingness to learn and improve. - Language: Mandarin, English or Bahasa Malaysia is preferred. Mandarin is an added advantage for communication with some team members and suppliers. - Attitude: Responsible, hardworking, willing to learn and able to work well as part of a team. - Work Schedule: Willing to work 6 days per week, including weekends and public holidays, according to the restaurant's operational schedule. - Career Growth: Candidates who are motivated to develop their culinary skills and take on greater responsibilities are encouraged to apply.
