Draftsman
Job Summary
IWC Asia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Draftsman to assist in preparing detailed shop drawings and design documentation for operable wall systems. The successful candidate will interpret architectural drawings, coordinate with internal departments and clients, and ensure technical feasibility. Candidates with 1-3 years of experience in technical drawing and proficiency in AutoCAD are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed shop drawings and design documentation for operable wall systems.
- Coordinate with internal departments, clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Prepare and revise AutoCAD drawings for submission and construction.
- Support production and site teams to resolve technical and design issues.
Required Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in technical drawing or project design
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, C&S and M&E drawings
- Strong technical and analytical mindset with good communication skills
Job Details
Design Development
- Assist in preparing detailed shop drawings and design documentation for operable wall systems.
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings to propose design solutions aligned with site constraints and project requirements.
- Customize standard system designs to suit unique project needs while ensuring technical feasibility and compliance with product standards.
Project Coordination
- Liaise with internal departments (Sales, Production, Project) to understand project scope and timelines.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors to clarify design intent and site requirements.
- Attend site visits, and provide design adjustments based on actual site conditions.
Documentation & Review
- Prepare and revise AutoCAD drawings for submission, approval, and construction.
- Assist in maintaining drawing records and ensure all designs comply with project timelines and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Senior Executive, Project Designer on technical documentation and revision control.
Support & Quality Assurance
- Support the production team by providing clear design drawings for fabrication.
- Work with the project and site team to resolve on-site design issues or modifications.
- Ensure final designs meet client expectations, safety standards, and technical requirements.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in technical drawing or project design; experience in partition systems, doors, or architectural products is a strong advantage.
- Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, or 3D software is a plus.
- Able to read and interpret architectural, C&S and M&E drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and good time management.
- Willingness to visit sites and work with cross-functional teams.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials, methods, and technical drawings.
- Strong technical and analytical mindset.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work under supervision.
- Team player with a willingness to learn and grow.
