R&D Engineer
Job Summary
Assist the R&D Manager in designing and developing mechanical plastic product structures to meet customer and internal requirements. Establish and maintain essential design documentation and quality control records. Conduct testing and improvement processes for new materials and existing products.

Job Details
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary duties (Approximately 70 to 80% of daily work schedule):
- Involve in Design and develop mechanical product structure (plastic), to meet customer, manufacturability & in-house requirements.
- In charge testing of designated plastic moulding products and necessary secondary process (printing & assembly) to ensure the conformance of established quality requirements.
- Perform 1st Article Checking on new / modified mould and liaison with mould maker / supplier / workshop for necessary action.
- Generate DCN / ECN to production arising from Design & Development activities and update into quality control documents.
- Distribute 1st Article Checking Report and quality document to relevant department.
Secondary duties (Approximately 20 to 30% of daily work schedule):
- Involve in new material testing (resin & plastic colorants) and seeking improvement on existing products.
- Perform Product Monitoring for changing of new raw material before/after mass production.
- Follow up all abnormal cases.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Possess knowledge of Science/Chemistry.
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to apply testing and inspection equipments.
- Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
- Computer literate.
- Possess good drafting skills in 2D and 3D, eg. AutoCAD, Solidworks etc. and good mathematical skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Preferably Bachelor Degree in Engineering Mechanical, Engineering Industry, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or relevant field.
