Job Summary
The Data Centre Operator is responsible for monitoring and maintaining daily operations to ensure system uptime and environmental stability. This role involves performing first-level troubleshooting, managing incident response, and executing preventive maintenance tasks. The operator also ensures compliance with security standards and provides operational reporting to support business continuity.

Required Skills
- Diploma in IT or Computer Science
- Knowledge of server and network systems

Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Monitor servers, storage, and networking equipment to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Respond to incidents promptly, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine checks, backups, and preventive maintenance on data centre systems.
- Enforce access controls and IT security policies, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Document incidents, maintenance activities, and system changes for audit and reporting purposes.
- Coordinate with IT teams during upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery exercises.
- Oversee environmental controls (power supply, cooling systems, fire suppression) to maintain safe operating conditions.
- Support capacity planning and resource allocation, ensuring infrastructure meets business demands.
- Assist in hardware installation and decommissioning, including racking, cabling, and equipment replacement.
- Provide regular status reports to management, highlighting performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Perform other related Data Centre Operator tasks from time to time assigned by the Data Centre Manager and Technical Manager.
Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- Fresh graduates may apply.
- 0–2 years of Data Centre or IT operations experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of server, network, and storage systems.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
- Understanding of ISO standards, ITIL framework, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Good communication skills in English & Bahasa Malaysia.
- Ability to work in shifts and handle critical incidents under pressure.
