Security System Administrator Intern
Job Summary
Manage, maintain and support global physical security systems and their underlying infrastructure across data centers and edge sites. Ensure reliability, security and consistent deployment of CCTV, access control and key management platforms. Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve incidents, perform maintenance, and support stakeholder needs.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support global physical security systems including CCTV, access control, and key management platforms
- Maintain Windows Server environments, virtualization, and storage infrastructure
- Perform Tier 2 incident troubleshooting and network problem resolution
- Handle routine maintenance, software upgrades, and vulnerability remediation
Required Skills
- Experience in systems administration and security systems management
- Windows Server administration expertise
- Hands-on experience with physical security platforms like Genetec, Avigilon, Lenel, and Traka
- Strong networking fundamentals and cross-layer troubleshooting skills

Physical Security Platform Management
Administration and support for CCTV/Video Management Systems (Genetec, Avigilon, Axis)
Administration and support for Access Control Systems (Lenel, Genetec)
Administration and support for Key Management Platforms (Traka)
Infrastructure Support
Server infrastructure: maintenance of Windows Server environments (patching, backups, hardening, health monitoring)
Virtualization: support for VMware vSphere and VMware Cloud Foundation hosting for security systems
Storage: management of video retention and performance (SMB/NFS, capacity monitoring, troubleshooting; Dell PowerScale/OneFS or Pure Storage experience)
Incident Resolution & Troubleshooting
Tier 2 incident troubleshooting (log review, root cause isolation, remediation coordination)
Collaborate with local technicians for break-fix execution and rapid service restoration
Network troubleshooting (VLAN/IP issues, routing/firewall dependencies, packet-level checks)
Maintenance & Lifecycle Management
Routine tasks: software/firmware upgrades, certificate renewals, configuration standardization, vulnerability remediation
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
Maintain operational artifacts (runbooks, diagrams, inventories, incident/change records)
Identify recurring issues and propose fixes via standardization, automation, or monitoring enhancements
Stakeholder Guidance
Support internal partners (Security, Facilities, DC Operations) on platform capabilities, limitations, and best practices
Vendor Management
Support vendor site access for break-fix & routine preventive maintenance, audit & compliance for service engineer/sub-con access
Technical verification on break-fix, RPM & RMA processes
Service Provider Competencies
3+ years of experience in systems administration, security systems management, or infrastructure operations (data center/critical environment preferred)
Expertise in Windows Server administration (troubleshooting, patching, hardening)
Hands-on experience with physical security platforms (Genetec, Avigilon, Lenel, Traka)
Strong cross-layer troubleshooting skills (systems, infrastructure, networks)
Knowledge of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, DNS, routing, firewalls)
Operational discipline in documentation, change control, and incident response
