Assistant HR Manager
Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and people-oriented Assistant HR Manager to support our HR department in overseeing daily operations and long-term talent strategies. You will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between management and our frontline teams, ensuring our workplace remains productive, compliant, and engaging. Experience in the F&B or Hospitality industry will be considered a significant advantage.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end recruitment process and high-volume hiring
- Manage employee relations, grievances, and performance
- Supervise monthly payroll, benefits, and statutory contributions
- Ensure HR compliance with labor laws and manage work permits
- Coordinate training programs and implement SOPs
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field
- 5–10 years of HR experience (F&B/Retail preferred)
- Strong knowledge of local labor laws
- Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin
- High integrity and proactive attitude
Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition: Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, with a focus on high-volume hiring for outlet staff (service and kitchen).
Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact for staff grievances, disciplinary issues, and performance management, ensuring fair treatment across all outlets.
Payroll & Benefits: Supervise the monthly payroll process and ensure accurate administration of staff benefits, insurance, and statutory contributions (EPF/SOCIO/EIS/PCB).
Compliance: Ensure all HR practices align with the latest Employment Act and local labor regulations. Oversee the application and renewal of work permits for foreign manpower.
Training & Development: Identify skill gaps within the F&B team and coordinate relevant training programs (Food Safety, Customer Service, Leadership).
Policy Implementation: Developing and implementing SOPs and employee handbooks to improve operational efficiency.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5–10 years of HR experience. Prior experience in the F&B or Retail sector is highly preferred.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of local labor laws and industrial relations.
Skills: Excellent communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients. Ability to multitask and handle the "on-the-go" nature of F&B operations.
