Procurement Intern
Job Summary
The Project Estimation & Procurement Intern will assist the project team with cost estimation, quotation sourcing, procurement, and project documentation. This role provides hands-on exposure to project estimation and procurement processes within construction projects. Candidates will work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, and Engineers to support various project-related tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing drawings and preparing Bills of Quantities
- Source and compare quotations from suppliers
- Prepare purchase orders and procurement documents
- Assist Project Managers with project-related tasks
Required Skills
- Pursuing degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office / Excel
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills
Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Assist with quantity take-offs and preparation of Bills of Quantities (BQ).
- Source and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates and tender documents.
- Maintain estimation records and project cost information.
- Assist in sourcing materials and suppliers.
- Request and follow up on supplier quotations.
- Prepare quotation comparison tables.
- Assist in preparing purchase orders and procurement documents.
- Follow up on material orders and delivery status.
- Assist Project Managers, Estimators, and Engineers with project-related tasks.
- Assist in maintaining project documentation and records.
- Support cost tracking and variation order pricing.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and good organisational skills.
- Willing to learn and work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or estimation software is an advantage but not required.
