Urban Farmer Service Crew
Job Summary
This role involves maintaining urban farming systems at client sites and providing customer support. You will also participate in installation projects, nursery management, and e-commerce order fulfillment. The position requires a proactive, independent individual capable of working in outdoor greenhouse environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on urban farming systems
- Provide onsite and walk-in customer support
- Assist in installation and commissioning of new projects
- Manage seed germination and plant care
- Fulfill e-commerce orders accurately
- Maintain demo farm operations
Required Skills
- Physical fitness for outdoor/greenhouse work
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Proactive problem-solving skills
- Experience with hydroponics (preferred)
- Diploma/Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture (preferred)
Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
Field Service & Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of urban farming systems at client sites.
Customer Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for walk-in and on-site customer inquiries.
Project Participation
- Participate fully in deployment projects, assist with system installation, commissioning, testing, and handover at new client sites.
Nursery & Cultivation
- Manage seed germination, seedling care, and transplanting.
E-Commerce Order Fulfilment
- Pick, pack, and ship online orders accurately and on time across all sales channels.
Demo Farm Maintenance
- Keep the CityFarm demo farm presentable and fully operational at all times.
Requirements:
Physical capability
- Comfortable working outdoors, in greenhouse conditions, and on ladders/platforms.
Detail-oriented & organised
- You notice when a pump sounds off, a leaf colour is changing, or a client's timer is misconfigured.
Independent & self-driven
- You manage your own schedule and route; minimal hand-holding required.
Positive, proactive attitude
- You see a problem, you fix it or flag it.
Nice-to-Have (Big Plus!):
- A diploma or degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science, Aquaculture, or a related field or demonstrable personal interest.
- Experience with hydroponic systems (NFT, DWC, drip irrigation, aeroponics).
